Icy Glam & Pink Sparkle Christmas card

 

Hi everyone! Katarina here, and today I’m sharing a beautifully frosty “Pink Sparkle Christmas Card” created with some of my absolute favourite WOW! Embossing Powders and glitters. ❄️💖

In this project, I’m using Pink Ice from the Ice Crystals Trio to give plain coloured cardstock a stunning icy makeover. It’s the perfect way to turn your florals into soft, non-traditional pink poinsettias with a gorgeous frosted finish. I’ve teamed them with teal holly leaves, coated in Clear Sparkle, for that crisp winter-morning shimmer we all love.

And because I can never resist a bit more shine, I added a dusting of Sparkling Sugar SPARKLES Glitter, it gives the whole card the sweetest, most magical sparkle. ✨

 STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:

1. Create the card base: Die cut two of the largest white oval shapes. Trim a tiny sliver off the bottom of one oval so the finished card won’t roll. On the opposite end of that straight edge, score a hinge at roughly 1½”. Add glue to the hinge and adhere the second oval on top to create your shaped card base.
2. Prepare the oval layers: 1x pink oval (one size smaller than the base, 1x patterned oval (one size smaller again). Skip down a couple of sizes in your die set, then cut 1x a smaller pink oval and one size smaller white oval. Add glitter to the edges of both pink ovals using Sparkling Sugar and to the patterned oval using White Earth Sparkles (biodegradable). Use dry clear glue to trace around the edges before sprinkling the glitter.
3. Make the sparkle background: On the smallest white oval, stamp the Falling Sparkles image using the WOW! Embossing Ink Pad. Cover with Pink Sapphire embossing powder and heat set. Dot a small amount of glue randomly over the sparkles and sprinkle Sparkling Sugar Sparkles Glitter on top. Set aside to dry.
4. Make the flowers: Die cut multiple sets of petals from white pearlescent cardstock. Ink the petals with Festive Berries Distress Oxide and, before the ink dries, cover with Pink Ice embossing powder. Heat set. Repeat this process three layers for each flower. Offset and layer the petals to create one large and one smaller full flower.
5. Make the foliage: Die cut holly and fern leaves from two shades of teal cardstock. Cover the holly leaves with embossing ink, sprinkle with Clear Sparkle embossing glitter, and heat set.
6. Make the sentiment: Die cut the word 'sparkle' from pink cardstock and its shadow layer from white. Layer these pieces together and mount on foam pads. Stamp ’Tis the Season' on pink cardstock with embossing ink and heat emboss using white embossing powder. Trim into a small strip and raise on foam pads.
7. Assembly: Once the glittered edges are dry, adhere the large pink oval and the patterned oval to the card base. Layer the smaller pink and white ovals together, then raise them on foam pads and attach to the centre of the card front. Arrange the flowers and foliage on the left side of the oval. Add the sentiment to the right. Finish by embellishing the flower centres with blingy silver rhinestones.
